Ariel Sung is a vocalist and delivers a soulful blend of Pop, Jazz , Broadway and Opera music into her vocal performances.

Born in Taiwan, Ariel began her piano studies at age eight and started dancing at twelve. At fifteen, she started to take different private voice lessons with different style of singing and the traditional Chinese instrument pi-pa. Ariel completed classical piano, classical voice & Pi-Pa three majors from Academy of Art in Taipei. Since Ariel was 15 years old, she got full of scholarship for her entire study. She also started to teach in JVC  School of Music in Taipei, and 17 years old, she got singing & teaching job at China TV in Taipei & recored a Chinese pop song album. The project, director by Chia-Chang , Liu.

In Canada, She had been studying classical voice with Bruce Pollen and Marisa Gaetanne , and also studying Jazz Vocal with Kate Hammett Vaughan. She got Bachelor‘s degree at VCC School of Music for Classical Voice ( major ) & Jazz Voice, Classical piano & Jazz piano ( minor) . Ariel has also completed a classical voice mentorship in Vienna, Austria.

Ariel's first passion is singing since she was a kid. She has recorded several musical albums and performances in Asia, North America and abroad. She had recorded the Mandarin versions for the parts of Ariel and Cinderella for Walt Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” and “ Cinderella.” She has been awarded several prizes in her profession.

In August of 2008, Ariel recorded an album “Vox” with Vancouver Film Orchestra at CBC Studio in Vancouver, and released it in January 2009. “Vox” is Ariel’s debut classical album. The project, directed by Hal Beckett & Conducted by Leslie Dala featured an impressive repertoire of operatic aria.

Ariel has had numerous vocal performances in North America and abroad.  After two solo Vancouver performances in October 2007, Ariel was chosen to play the lead role in the Vancouver production of “Thunderstorm” at the Vancouver Playhouse in March 2008.  In January 2009, Ariel held a successful home-coming concert with Evergreen Orchestra in Taiwan, and a recital with Vancouver Opera Orchestra at Vancouver Orpheum Theatre in Feb.2011.
